Who Really Are Your Customers?

I came across this article over the weekend about how remote working could bring the end of the office.
I thought they are most likely onto something. The technical challenges are there and security is a big issue. But the fundamental change in the lack of office as a hub means that people have had to change behaviour quickly.
Have a think about the other challenges associated with remote working. Technical aspects aside, there are many things that can present themselves. Processes operated in the business can be overlooked, especially those that are transactional. While these can appear to work seamlessly in the office, how does that translate when away long term.
Off shoring activities and processes is quite normal, but there was always HQ to back it up. Now that HQ has been dispersed what is the communication flow like?
Unless all your processes are robust it could lead to problems. Now that employees don’t have the ability to do any workarounds they have developed whilst together on site a new approach may be needed.
